A very good friend of mine stopped by the house the other night.
Not that I have not been under a lot of stress lately, but I also have not-not been under stress, so it was great just relax with a good buddy that I don’t get to see as often as I’d like because of work, family and location.
We grilled some hot-dogs, drank some beer, made sarcastic comments, talked about life.
I felt so recharged.
Recently, a few other friends helped me out with a project. When I spoke to them or texted them, they were so selfless with their time and advice. They were genuinely interested in how I was doing and what they could do to help. I hope I can return the favor one day.
I am so thankful to have friends. Where would I be without their sincere advice and unwavering support?
You can find lots of people that will tell you what want to hear. Real friends will tell you what you need to hear. I am blessed to be connected to so many people who I can learn from and who understand me-especially my wife.
Growing up I was taught:
“Make a for yourself a teacher, acquire for yourself a friend and judge everyone positively”
Friends are a necessity.
